Panic broke out throughout the island after news on the newly hired GMH anesthesiologist Dr. Russel J. Aubin went public. Dr. Aubin’s medical license was revoked in two states, Rhode Island and Massachusetts, after he was accused of fondling two sedated female patients. This is just another example of poor management at GMH. Management has put harm not only for patients but for the nurses and staff as well. How can the GMH staff perform their duties in this kind of working environment? This all boils down to poor management decisions. Matt Rector, “Management at the hospital made such a poor choice. The pay and benefits are so bad that we can only afford getting an anesthesiologist which no other state in the country will hire. He may not have been convicted but there’s a reason why he hasn’t been employed for three years and there’s a reason why his license was revoked.” When we give better pay and benefits to our employees, we can give quality healthcare our island needs.
