GFT SEEKS COURT ORDER FOR TEACHERS $3.8M PLUS

After years of trying to get teachers repaid for the paycheck the first Guam Education Policy Board stole from GPSS teachers, GFT has returned to court again. Yesterday, 8-14-08, GFT attorneys filed for a writ mandate the GPSS pay teachers the $3.8 M that they owe them, plus legal fees, plus interest. GFT President Rector states, ”It’s sad that it has to come to this, but we have been diligently fighting for our members and thanks to a recent court precedent this action should result in teachers finally getting the money due them.”
