Our elected officials expect miracles from GPSS. While they fund our public school system by less than 1/3 of the national average they expect it to outperform the rest of the nation. No superintendent will ever be able to achieve this miracle, especially when they are only offering $100K for a position that would pay about $300K in a comparable sized district. It doesnt matter what the school board looks like, what the name of the Department is or who is in charge the system wont produce the quality of education that our children deserve until we fund it properly.
