Instead of giving away $250,000 to an off-island consultant to do a couple of weeks study to tell us what we already know, we can do it a better way. First, we utilize the experts that we already have employed to start solving problems one step at a time with built in evaluation mechanisms. We know this works because we have study after study proving it. With that being said, we’ve already spent the money so let’s see what we can get out of it. While some of it is pure management by numbers that doesn’t take into account what’s good for our children, our island or our people, just what things cost, there are some parts of the study that can be used as a guide by labor-management committees to move forward.
