“The governor and senators need to follow the lead of the chief justice and Judiciary by implementing measures to reduce the cost of the rest of the government of Guam,” stated in yesterday’s PDN editorial. Cutting labor costs in our Public Structure will only make things worse. We already have a struggling economy; workers don’t have any money to spend. This will put more strain on our public assistant programs, which already have thousands of cases in process. Not only will this hurt our families, but it will negatively affect the services of our public agencies. One of the most important things to do during an economic downturn is to keep our workers employed.
