STATUS QUO=NOT MOVING FORWARD

Our local Senators begin session again tomorrow at 9am for the next fiscal year budget. We’ve had a 6% inflation increase each year for the last six years. Do you see any inflation adjustments in your paycheck for the last six years to help keep up with rising costs? Probably not. Two amendments introduced last week would have given public servants an inflation adjustment and raised wages for private sector workers. Unfortunately they did not pass. In order for our economy to work, we need to start giving workers decent wages. This will give workers more money to circulate into our economy. If we stick to status quo we will not move forward. Watch the legislative session on Ch. 13 and see if our Senators are passing legislation in the best interest of working families.
