STUDIES SHOW SCHOOLS NEAR AIRPORTS ARE BAD FOR OUR CHILDREN’S HEALTH

In one Airline Company on Guam, they have an estimated amount of 25 flights per day. If the interim JFK building was to be placed in Tiyan, then could you imagine the disruption teachers and students would have during their class lessons on a daily basis? Not only is the sound of the departure and arrival of an airplane disturbing to a learning environment but there are many physiological effects to our children. According to a Cornell University study, health problems such as high blood pressure, boosted levels of stress hormones and the obvious hearing loss are possible long term effects caused by the chronic noise from airplanes. As much as our teachers, staff and students of JFK need their own school back, we must not take on an alternative solution that will cause more harm. Read more information on the study
