AFT-Produced Video Wins International Award A video classroom resource developed by the AFT to promote student engagement through the study of global youth movements has won a Gold Remi at the Annual WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. Take a Stand: Student Activism Around the World won second place in the category Film and
Productions: World Peace and Understanding. The video tells the story of five dramatic social-change movements–in the United States, Burma, China, Iran and South Africa–in which students played a critical leadership role. WorldFest is an independent film competition and 10-day festival, which this year attracted more than 450 filmmakers from 32 countries. More than 4,000 films were entered. Preview the video
