It’s a new school year and it’s the perfect time to make improvements in our children’s education. Over the years we have seen what has happened to our public education system when we have people other than teachers decide on what’s best for our children. Teachers are in direct contact with as much as 150 students a day and know exactly what is needed to improve and enhance their learning skills. That’s why it is important teachers get involved. GFT has included in the Teacher Contract, the opportunity for teachers to participate in the decision-making process by forming labor-management committees. Whether it’s a curriculum committee, textbook development or new technology committee, teachers need to be heard. Start the school year off by forming a committee that will improve your students’ education.
