With White House prodding, the U.S. House of Representative has decided to fully include Puerto Rico and the other U.S. territories in the national health reform plan being drawn up in Congress, Resident Commissioner Pedro Pierluisi said.
While the House had approved a huge boost in Medicaid funding, it had left the island and other territories out of a health insurance exchange program that will provide subsidies to cover an estimated 500,000 local workers and their families, as well as consumer protections. continue reading
