Our working families had a great victory in last week’s legislative session when former Senator Matt Rector’s Bill 236 passed! This ensures public employees who work Night shifts receive Night Differential Pay with no minimum hour requirement. Prior to this, public employees only received Night Differential Pay if they work a minimum of 4 hours between 6pm-6am but now there is no minimum requirement and the time span is extended by an hour (6pm-7am). With this law in place, our working families will be compensated for the uncommon work hours that are rather difficult, especially when trying to raise a family.
