SENATOR BJ CRUZ SAYS PUBLIC LAW 29-52 PROVIDES FUNDING SOURCE & AUTHORIZATION FOR FURLOUGH PAY

The legislature passed a bill in late 2007 that provides funding to pay back our teachers from the illegal furlough. The Governor vetoed the bill and the Legislature overrode the veto the next day which became Public Law 29-52. The Administration and DOE were tasked with ensuring payment. Senator BJ Cruz says “The Legislature will continue to work toward resolution of this injustice.”
