Would you want your child to be in a classroom with 50 students? Research has shown that smaller class sizes are more conducive to learning and produce higher student performance (Learn more about smaller class sizes). Fortunately, GFT’s DOE Board Union Contract includes a specific class size to ensure the greatest possible teacher time per student. Although decent class sizes require more teachers and can be costly for the Department, it is a much needed investment in order to give our children quality education. “I never realized how important our CBA was until I taught in a non-union school in the states: 45 kids in a class, crazy workloads and no respect at work. Thank God for GFT and our CBA.”- Barbara Janssen, GFT Member.
