The new Hay Study that was released yesterday confirmed what we have been saying all along: Guam’s Public Servants are underpaid by 59%!!! Unfortunately, the study is just a piece of paper that creates new national average pay scales but does not recommend implementing them due to cost. The first recommendation is to only bring us up to 85% of the National Average. The second is to only move up the lowest paid workers on to the scale which would leave most of us behind. These would only cost $13Million. If we don’t let our Senators know that all of our people deserve to be treated like first class citizens, then they will not do what is necessary to ensure we are paid like first class citizens. In the coming months be prepared to join lobbying teams to explain to Senators how important fair pay is to you, your family and your island. Together We Win!!!
