Next school year will be an exciting year for teachers, staff and students as it is every year. DOE has great plans for improvement in technology and professional development, updates on the facilities and maintenance plans and many more. In order to move forward with these plans, our public education system must have the proper funding. Teachers and staff do the best they can with what is available and at often times out of their own pockets. Unfortunately, year after year we underfund the system robbing our children from having better facilities and maintenance, adequate number of supplies and textbooks, and more teachers and school aides. Currently, the legislature is going through hearings for DOE’s budget. Hopefully our elected officials start adequately funding our children’s education they so desperately need.
