Teachers and other exempt status workers cannot have their pay docked if they are late or miss a (faculty) meeting. They can be counseled and disciplined, but they cannot have their pay reduced in any way. In fact, if a supervisor docks an exempt status employee’s pay then the supervisor is subject to paying a large amount of back pay for overtime. If your supervisor tried to (or did) steal your pay check because you were a couple of minutes late to school due to an accident or road construction, then you have the right to be paid overtime for all of those late nights you stayed up finishing grades or preparing lesson plans, not to mention the weekends you chaperoned a dance, went to a football game or even went back to school to put up a new bulletin board. Management cannot have it both ways either you are a salaried (exempt status) or hourly employee.
