GFT’s national affiliate, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), has started an on-going campaign to raise awareness and provide resources to educators, students and parents in dealing with bullying.  The AFT has posted a lot of great information on their website for teachers in identifying bullies and victims, creating a safe learning environment, classroom activities and webinars available.  The AFT website also has tips for elementary and secondary students when dealing with bullying.  “Do you know what bullying looks like? When a “let’s hate _______” petition is being circulated and your name is at the top, tweeting rumors, posting mean things on an FB wall.”  These are just a few of the information students, educators and parents can find on the AFT campaign page.  GFT Worksite leaders (stewards) can pick up “See a Bully, Stop a Bully: Make a Difference” posters at the GFT Office if you have not picked them up yet.
