One of the great benefits of being a GFT member is access to a number of insurance plans offered from the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). Insurance coverage for Term Life, Disability Income and Catastrophic Major Medical Plan are available to members. To use these benefits or for more information you may follow these steps:

Step 1: Must have AFT Membership Card or Membership Number
If you don’t have either then:
a. Log onto www.aft.org
b. Click on member log
c. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on contact the AFT Membership Department:
1. Fill out your information
2. Your local number is 1581
3. Select: I need a replacement membership card
4. Please complete the section asked to describe the problem. Please request to forward your membership number so that you will be able to register and access the site.
Step 2: Once you get your AFT Membership Card and/or Membership Number, please register.
Step 3: You will have full access to the AFT member benefits section once you are registered.
Step 4: Click on Benefits and choose from the selection.
