The GFT would like to proceed with Arbitration for the Port Authority Contract after several requests have been made to resume negotiations.  Port workers have been patiently waiting to continue negotiations so that they can finally have a contract in place to improve their working conditions and ensure justice and fairness at their workplace.    “On repeated occasions over the last year we have sent you letters in an effort to resume the negotiations for the Port Authority of Guam employee’s contract…Henceforth we must conclude that we are at an impasse on contract negotiations. Therefore, pursuant to 2GARR 5112 we would like to proceed with Arbitration,” stated in a letter to the Port Authority General Manager.  Copies of the letter have been forwarded to Governor Calvo, Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz, DOA Director and the Port Authority Board.  Read letter from President Matt Rector here
