SOCIAL JUSTICE, LABOR UNIONS AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

Since 1891 when Pope Leo XIII published Revrum Novarum, the Catholic Church has always supported labor unions and their mission of protecting workers’ rights. The right to organize and establish collective bargaining agreements to ensure safe working conditions and fair wages corresponds to the Catholic teachings of social justice. In response to the attacks on our Nation’s workers and collective bargaining, the Catholic Scholars for Worker Justice issued a statement of support on labor unions. Click here to read more
