TEACHERS’ CBA PROTECTS THEM FROM RANDOM INVOLUNTARY TRANSFERS

In the event that you are involuntarily transferred to another school, refer to ART 7B2 in your contract which states, “Involuntary transfers may be made only in cases where a position is deleted due to the lowering of student enrollment or by Board approved curricular changes.” This protects every member of the bargaining unit from being moved around from school to school at the whim of an administrator or because DOE management hasn’t done their job of hiring a sufficient number of personnel.
