Sonne Alston, a former employee of the Guam Shipyard, was wrongfully terminated in January after joining and assisting GFT in its union activities. In efforts of discouraging employees from joining the union, the management of the Guam Shipyard terminated Alston. GFT then filed an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) complaint with the National Labor Relations Board whom has ruled in favor of GFT. The Guam Shipyard is now ordered to give back pay to Alston.
