AFT Western Regional Director, Gerard Friesz, Deputy Director of Organizing and Field Services, Rick Kuplinski, and General Counsel, David Strom, visited the island and met with members, local affiliate leaders, and other key players involved with GFT’s current issues. Friesz, Kuplinski and Strom were made aware of challenges with collective bargaining agreements for DOE Teachers, DOE Support Staff and the Port Authority of Guam employees. The AFT now has a better understanding of the specific challenges our members are facing with the Government of Guam and will provide full support to our members. GFT members can be assured that the AFT will provide the needed resources to help our members as this visit established a great, long-term relationship.
