One of the great things about being a GFT member is that you are also a member of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and are entitled to their benefits as well!  Please contact the GFT office at 735-4390 if you have not received your AFT membership card.     

AMERICAN FEDERATION OF TEACHERS ROBERT G. PORTER SCHOLARS PROGRAM
This program offers four, 4-year, $8,000 post-secondary scholarships to students who are dependents of AFT members, as well as 10 one-time $1,000 grants to AFT members to assist with their continuing education.  Deadline to submit an application is on April 1, 2013.  Applications are available here
