Witnessing the reactions of the children at Finegayan Elementary School was a priceless moment, as you can see nothing but joy and excitement in receiving that first book that they can take home and keep forever. GFT and its national affiliate AFT launched the First Book program on Guam at Finegayan Elementary School on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in a special presentation in collaboration with the Department of Education. GFT provided over 900 brand new, quality books for every child at Finegayan elementary school to take home and keep.
The launch of this great program was a great collaborative effort between GFT and DOE which is the first of many more book events to come. GFT will be reaching out to the community in being part of this effort by engaging organizations and businesses so that we can provide books for every child in the rest of our public schools.
