Although changes were made on Bill 420-32 regarding educator professional conduct with GFT’s input, there were still a number of items that were not changed that can create problems for our educators.  GFT immediately sent the committee a letter with inputs on the revised bill but the committee sent the bill to the legislature for voting.  The bill was passed by a vote of 13-1.  Senator San Nicolas was the only senator who voted against the bill.  GFT is now reaching out to Governor Calvo to veto the bill and send it back to the Guam Commission for Education Certification to hold a true public hearing.  All educators holding a certification are encouraged to reach out to the Governor for his support.
