Robo Arm Challenge
Give your class a fun science project – ask them to make a robotic arm! In this video from Design Squad Nation, kids design and build controllable mechanical arms and use their "robo" arms to lift objects and play a series of games.

As they build their mechanical arms, the kids use the engineering design process, apply a variety of science concepts – like levers and tension and compression – and learn how NASA uses robotic arms in many of its missions. This lesson includes a “Mission: Solar System” teacher's guide that gives you an overview of the project’s four components and how to use them to run a challenge, start to finish. Blood Flow and Thermoregulation
Whether you like it hot or cold weather, it’s good to know that your body can adjust. It is constantly monitoring its processes to maintain homeostasis—relatively stable and constant internal conditions. Your body automatically responds to changing external conditions – by changing breathing or heart rate, for example – to keep systems working in sync to maintain a healthy internal environment.

This interactive activity adapted from WGBH and the University of Alberta helps students explore heat exchange between the human circulatory system and the environment, and illustrates how the body adapts its blood flow under different conditions. Animations show how peripheral heat loss, counter-current heat exchange and selective vasoconstriction help maintain a healthy core body temperature. http://to.pbs.org/1B1bOCj
