In light of concerns with fairness at the Port Authority, GFT filed a Nepotism complaint against the Operations Manager who had direct line supervision of an immediate family member.  At the hearing for the complaint on Wednesday, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) made a decision to remove the Operations manager from its position and be placed into another.  Although the CSC ruled partly in favor to GFT, the CSC overstepped its authority by directing the Port to restructure its Organizational Chart and accommodate the now former Operations manager to remain employed.  The CSC contradicted its previous ruling on a similar case regarding another Port employee whose position was null and voided with no accommodations to retain employment with the Port.  GFT will be seeking legal advice on this matter.
