EDUCATOR CONDUCT LAW
GFT Vice President and field representative meet with Senator Nerissa Underwood to continue efforts in amending Public Law 32-236 on educator conduct. The proposed amendment to the law drafted by Senator Won Pat’s office doesn’t address all the concerns of the Law. Therefore, Senator Underwood had asked for GFT to submit a draft of the Law with our proposed changes.
DOE SY CALENDAR
GFT also reached out to Senator Underwood on the matter regarding the revised calendar for DOE with the additional minutes and duty days for teachers. Underwood had agreed to hold a round table discussion with GFT and DOE to discuss the concerns of the calendar and possibly propose an alternative.
