UNDERWOOD GIVES POSITIVE RESPONSES TO GFT ON EDUCATOR CONDUCT LAW

On Thursday, GFT met with Senator Nerissa Underwood regarding the newly enacted law on Professional Educator Conduct.  GFT explained each area of concern that was not addressed when GFT initially met with the legislature before it was passed into law.  Underwood was receptive to GFT’s concerns and suggestion to hold a controlled, round-table discussion including the Civil Service Commission, Department of Education and the Attorney General’s Office.  GFT will continue to work with Underwood in taking action to amend the law.
