The Directors of Department of Administration and the Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center have fulfilled their statutory duty in identifying the program for personnel directly exposed to hazardous working conditions and developing a protocol for personnel who are not normally in direct-exposure situations. Last September 13, 2016, GFT filed an alternative Writ of Mandamus in the Superior Court of Guam seeking an order to both Directors to perform their duty as required and mandated by 4 GCA § 6225.1.
GFT members of Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center were concerned that they were not receiving hazard pay after Public Law 33-16 was passed in October 2015 reinstating the hazardous pay to the employees. The Attorney General’s Office confirmed that a policy is now in place to identify those qualified for hazard pay. This is great progress for our members. GFT will be following up on the actual processing of the pay.
