GFT Delegates gathered with thousands of AFT Delegates and guests throughout the Nation at the 2016 AFT Biennial Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Delegates set off in loud cheers and applause as Keynote Speaker Hillary Clinton addressed critical issues and assured her commitment to standing with our union members and reserving a seat at the table for the AFT in the White House. The four-day Convention also included several distinguished Speakers who spoke about issues in education, social justice, racial equality, gun violence, LGBTQ community and more. “We build power for people through success at the bargaining table and at the ballot box. That remains as true as ever, with community and member engagement as a common underlying theme,” expressed Randi Weingarten – AFT President. Several resolutions were passed at the Convention committing AFT to addressing the issues affecting our members and the community we serve.
