As you know another school year is rapidly approaching and at the beginning of every school year, drug testing of public employees can be expected. GFT Field Representatives have noticed that employees using the prescription medication Metformin to control their diabetes are testing positive for methamphetamine.  This false positive test result is also confirmed by numerous reliable sources on the internet. Unfortunately, the Medical Review Officer (MRO) for the Government of Guam does not recognize Metformin as a cause for positive drug test results. This information is based on our observations. We are not medical doctors.
