Registered nurses in Guam will see a bump in pay reflected in their August 14, 2021 paycheck. Thanks to actions taken by Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, this campaign promise made to GFT and to the nurse membership is long overdue. The pay increase will be on the base rate only and differs for the agencies:
10% for Department of Education nurses
15% for department of Public Health and Social Services nurses
25% for Guam Memorial Hospital and Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center nurses
As a long-term recommendation, GFT advocates for the pay raise to be the same for all nurses with at least a 25% increase.
In addition to the pay raise for nurses, Adelup said they are looking at salaries of education, law enforcement, and other healthcare-related workers.
