The Guam Department of Education (GDOE) appeared before members of the Guam Legislature at an informational hearing to request a waiver of the 180 instructional days and service-learning. Members of the Guam Education Board and the GDOE administration voiced their concerns if laws remained as is and how we reached this situation.

Service Learning: Students who did not obtain 75 hours of service learning would not be able to graduate.

180 instructional days: Schools will extend the school year if the Guam Legislature does not grant the waiver.

One senator says that GDOE needs to plan better.
