GFT submitted 630 petition signatures from teachers, school support staff, law enforcement officers, and other public employees urging the legislature to fix Bill 323-34 that was lapsed into law (now PL 34-116) by lifting the freeze on increments and reclassification. “The freeze on increments and reclassification places more financial burden on government workers that already earn below their respective pay grade when compared to the national average,” stated Sanjay Sharma in the letter addressed to Speaker Therese Terlaje. Sharma further stated, “With rising taxes and inflation, the wages of the lowest in the nation do not keep up without the increments and reclassification.”
